FIU Black Workers Care Plan Presented Oral Health for Birth Workers Community Workshop

The FIU Black Mothers hosted a Maternal Health and Wellness Community Workshop on Saturday, August 16, 2025. This free workshop was designed for a wide range of community-based birth workers, especially early-career, practicing, and student midwives and doulas, who were interested in expanding their knowledge on oral health and its impact on pregnancy outcomes. Our guest speaker, Stafanie Gaspard, a registered dental hygienist, shared strategies to help birth workers integrate oral health support into the care they provide for families.
