Congratulations to Yvonne Bronner, ScD, MSPH, on her recognition as a leader in Black Maternal Health by the Baltimore Healthy Start! She joins several honorees who were recognized during 2026 Black Maternal Health Week. Dr. Bronner serves as Principal Investigator, Maternal Health Research Coordinating Center (MHRCC) at Morgan State University. In this role, Dr. Bronner leads the effort to develop problem-solving, community-engaged maternal health research capacity and capability at 16 Research Centers (RCs) across colleges and universities in AL, CA, DC, FL, GA, HI, MD, MS, NY, OH, PR,TN, and TX.
Dr. Bronner is also currently a Professor in the Department of Public and Allied Health at the School of Community Health and Policy. Dr. Bronner is the author of numerous publications, including Food Counts in the African American Community: Chart Book 2001. She has served on Chartwell’s National Advisory Board and McDonald’s Global Advisory Board. Dr. Bronner recently received the Poindexter Award from APHA, the legacy award from Baltimore’s B’More for Healthy Babies, and an appointment to the Advisory Board for the Healthy Futures Foundation.
