The Center for Maternal & Family Health
The Center for Maternal & Family Health is a research center at Morgan State University committed to improving perinatal and postpartum outcomes by fostering deep partnerships with communities and conducting research that informs and drives maternal health. We strive to improve the perinatal and postpartum experience through interdisciplinary collaboration that engages faculty, students, community partners, and practitioners to advance maternal health.
The Center for Maternal & Family Health advances research, education, and community-informed initiatives that support maternal, paternal, and family well-being across the reproductive life course. The Center is grounded in strong partnerships with community members, healthcare professionals, researchers, and organizations to ensure its work is practical, relevant, and responsive to community needs. Through a collaborative, community-engaged approach, the Center integrates lived experience, shared learning, and continuous feedback into its research and program development. By fostering meaningful partnerships and applying rigorous, community-informed methods, the Center works to strengthen systems of care and promote healthier outcomes for families and communities.
